“We want to make sure our customers are well taken care of,” says Morgan Littlefield, of FilterGirls, a family-owned HVAC contractor. Why is it called FilterGirls? Owner Guy Littlefield has been in the business for over 30 years. After working for other companies, he decided to open his own business with his daughters in mind. “He did it for us, so we could be our own bosses in a male-dominated world,” says Morgan, who worked side-by-side with her dad for hands-on experience. Her sister, Zoe, apprenticed under her father and is now a journeyman. “She goes out every day in her own van,” explains Morgan.

After going to installation school and learning about appliance repairs, Morgan furthered her education in business management. Now she handles all the administrative work in the office. She’s often on the phone with customers. “I’m better with people, and I enjoy talking to clients. Relationships are so important.”
